About Rachel

I am a seasoned educator with 25 years of teaching and tutoring experience.

  • Cornell University: BA Biology, Psychology
  • University of Southern California: MFA Acting
  • CHADD: ADHD Educator Training

Before starting my own company, I worked with various other private tutoring companies, and taught SAT prep for Kaplan while developing my teaching skills and philosophies.

Montessori Approach

With a background in Montessori style education and a concentration in Psychology, I teach to the student. Everyone learns differently and some folks march to the beat of a different drum. Learn their rhythm.

ADHD Training

Over half of my students have ADD or ADHD. Along with years of experience, I have read numerous psychology books on the topic and have recently completed CHADD’s ADHD training program to better serve this community.

March to the beat of your own drum!

Teaching Artist and Musician

I am also a performer and teaching artist, which adds depth, creativity, and experience to my approach.

Working as a musician and piano teacher gives me insight into how students process visual, audio, and kinesthetic information.

Puppetry as a Tool

I am a professional puppeteer for film and TV. I have taught puppetry workshops at DreamWorks, NYFA, and Puppetworks in NYC.

I incorporate puppetry into my tutoring sessions for younger students and the whimsically inclined.

Puppetry adds levity and humor. My students on the spectrum often find puppetry to be a safe and gentle way to understand and process emotions and behaviors.
